Call for Applications
Nationscapes: Nationalism Studies Program Essay and Photography Competition
Are you thinking of applying to our 1-year or 2-year MA programs? Now is your chance to secure a fast-track to our interview process—once your application has been submitted—by participating in CEU Nationalism Studies Program’s Nationscapes!
This year, we are asking you to describe an example of nationalism or the nation-building process in a small written statement or through a visual example.
The top five entrants will automatically be accepted to the second stage of the admission process—and will get to have a one-on-one interview with one of our professors about your interests, boosting your chances of getting accepted!
To take part, you can either write an essay or send us a photo with a relevant description related to one of the four topics listed below. The details are completely up to you, as long as you follow the guidelines.
Names of the winners, and winning essay titles and photos will be shared on our website!
ELIGIBILITY
The Nationscapes competition is open to anyone who plans on applying to CEU’s Interdisciplinary Nationalism Studies Program for the next academic year.

REQUIREMENTS for the essay
1.Maximum 1000 words (not including bibliography)
2.Double spaced
3.English
4.Calibri, 12
5.Any citation style is acceptable, as long as it is consistent
6.Submit your essay as a PDF file:

REQUIREMENTS for the photo
1.Maximum 300 words relating the photo to nationalism
2.Original photo that showcases one of the four themes
3.English
4.Location and date of photo
5.Any citation style is acceptable, as long as it is consistent
6.Submit your photo and description as an email to: AgichA@ceu.edu
