 Nationalism Studies Program / Department of Political Science

 The Nationalism Studies Program and Department of Political Science at Central European University invite applications for a full-time position in Nationalism and Politics at the rank of assistant professor.  The candidate will be expected to teach courses related to Global Migration; Minority Protection; Federalism; Comparative Politics; and Methodology of Comparative Social Research. Candidates with a specific focus on the contemporary accommodation of ethnic, racial and linguistic diversity (e.g. consociationalism, federalism) are encouraged to apply.  Preference will be given to candidates engaged in comparative research, focusing on both European and non-European regions. The candidate should have a proven track record in publishing on these topics, preferably in political science journals.

 Applicants must have a PhD in political science or related field and provide evidence for high level achievements to date or outstanding potential in research and teaching. Specific responsibilities include teaching three graduate courses per academic year, master’s and doctoral supervision, engaging in high quality academic research, and attracting external research grants.

 Compensation is commensurate with experience. We offer a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. Teaching load is comparable to that of research universities.
